September Luncheon – Moe Carrick

11:30 am - 1:00 pm
9620 SW Barbur Blvd

Heart and Head: Your Dare to Lead Practice

We are excited for the September luncheon, kicking things off with the inspiring Moe Carrick, workplace guru.

Leading is not for the feint of heart. And leadership itself is not ultimately about net earnings, titles or the corner office. Leading well is about the willingness to step up, put yourself out there, and lead into courage. Whether you are CEO of a large public company or a small start-up, a family held business, or a franchise, you probably feel the challenge every day of putting into practice the skills and behaviors that add up to effectively leading a team, a division, or a company. The four inter-connected skillsets of Courage, Living into Our Values, Braving Trust, and Learning to Rise are easy to read and harder to implement within yourself.

Our luncheon will be an interactive and practical workshop, exploring these four skills for leading, adapted from Dr. Brené Brown’s groundbreaking work as featured in her latest best selling book, Dare to Lead, with a special emphasis on women and the many roles they carry at home and at work! Watch the clip below for a special message to Portlandia!

Lunch update: Salad and sandwich sack lunches will be ordered from Elephant’s Delicatessen. Please indicate lunch choice during registration. For salad and sandwich descriptions, please visit Elephant’s website.

Also at September’s luncheon, we invite attendees to make donations (by check, credit card, or cash) in support of Girl Scouts Beyond Bars. This program supports girls when they visit their mothers or grandmothers at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville. Donations will be used toward the purchase of supplies for the Saturday Session Travel Kits. The cost of one travel kit is about $25. We’ll have centerpieces on each table to show how your contributions will be used.

To learn more about this unique program that provides opportunities to help strengthen the familial bond for girls, ages of 5-18, please visit their website.
