Celebrating Black History Month!

Join us as we feature Ms. Barbara O’Hare, who will be sharing her story and why we are celebrating Black History Month.

Ms. O’hare along with Dr. Kathleen Perkins, lead a diversity workshop for Portlandia members and guests in the fall of 2020.

Ms. O’Hare and Dr. Perkins founded ‘Beyond Diversity, LLC’. Beyond Diversity centers its training on how we are all affected by institutionalized and individualized racism, where racial bias comes from, how it functions, why it persists, and how racial bias can be undone.

Ms. O’Hare earned her B.S. from Portland State and attended the University of Portland in the School of Nursing. She was born in Portland and has lived in Erlanger Kentucky, Los Angeles and San Francisco, California, Mercer Island Washington, and Salt Lake City Utah. She has served on 13 non-profit Boards in Portland and has facilitated dialogues with police departments, educators, law firms, and churches.
